Oh boy, the more I wander around the 1940census project sight the more I learn! The other blogs are 'blow me away' excellent, I especially enjoyed reading about the last of the 1812 Pensioners. It is amazing what our ancestors had to go through to survive and leave something for the next generation. My 5x Great Grandfather, Daniel Chapman, was in the War of 1812, I was fortunate enough to see his pension papers at the National Archives in Washington D.C.! I also have some of his pension papers that my Grandfather passed down to me. They are amazing documents!
I am currently working on a branch of the Chapman/Rouse/French/Cooley that I had not explored before and very thankful for those who came before me that wrote things down!
